Hello Dear Sibling,
I hope this message finds you well, that you are taking care of yourself and your loved ones, AND that your loved ones are also taking care of you.
I wanted to send you this message because you are someone who believes in the importance of elevating Trans leadership. As the only Trans-led organization providing critical supportive services in Los Angeles, helping other Trans people with critical and life saving services, while also leading great policy work nation wide to better the lives of Trans people.
As a Trans-led organization, you can probably understand how hard it is to convince funders to invest in the important work that we do as an organization, even those funders who call themselves "progressive" and that they "understand the Trans Community."
That is why I am sending you this message before the end of this horrible period in our history. This global pandemic has set Trans people even further behind than how we were before COVID-19 hit. Trans people have been one of the populations most impacted because the institutional violence that we experience that turns into interpersonal violence, before COVID-19 and now even more.
I am sending this message because I need to ask you to please make a tax deductible donation before the end of this year. Your contribution will support the continued empowerment of Trans people through supportive services and through changing policies that keeps us in the margins.
We ask for you to be part of the change and be intentional about supporting to better the lives of Trans people. Please make a contribution of any amount that is possible to you today and support Trans people to have a better quality of life. Your contribution can get us closer to the liberation that we have been fighting for and that we are all seeking. Please support our work by making a donation to our organization today if you are able to so that we can continue to do our work. Your contribution will help Trans people who are incarcerated and detained in immigration detention. Additionally, it will help our organization to continue to provide daily hot meals to Trans people and will support to pay for immigration filing fees and to get us closer to find our permanent home.
Please continue to have a beautiful rest of your holidays and a beautiful new year, but most importantly, please continue to take care of yourself.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT today and always.
With gratitude and in solidarity,
Bamby Salcedo, M.A.
