The TransLatin@ Coalition condemns the recent act of domestic terrorism against our communities in Monterey Park

The TransLatin@ Coalition condemns the recent act of domestic terrorism against our communities in Monterey Park. Our hearts and thoughts are with the grieving families of the ten people whose lives were taken, the injured, and the entire Monterey Park community in our beloved county of Los Angeles.

We recognize that this most recent example of endemic violence impacts all of us in different ways and seek to express our support for members of the Monterey Park community that are frightened, angered, traumatized, or otherwise negatively impacted by this tragedy. Given the focus of the violence, this may be an incredibly distressing time, specifically for our Asian and Pacific Islander local community members, those who love them, and those whose lives have been impacted by gun violence.

If you have been affected by these recent events, please know that you are not alone, and support is available. We encourage you to access support through the social services available to you.

"Our organization will do anything possible to ensure all of our communities are safe, that we eradicate hate and that we live without fear," stated our CEO Bamby Salcedo.

Please continue to stay strong as a community, especially in these difficult times and continue to support one another.
