Statement On the Biden Administration Statement On Healthcare For Trans Youth

The TransLatin@ Coalition is disappointed in the Biden administration’s opposition to gender-affirming care for minors.

Our elected leaders have time and time again tried to impose their views, religions, and false understandings of our community onto our bodies.

During a time when the Transgender, Gender Expansive, and Intersex (TGI) community is facing discrimination, hate, and violence, we need to acknowledge that our youth are the most vulnerable.

The TransLatin@ Coalition takes a youth-first approach to this issue. We believe that youth should have a say in their healthcare, and decisions should be made between families, youth, and their medical professionals.

Our organization will continue to advocate on behalf of all TGI people.
