We are deeply saddened by the reported killing of Ashia Davis, a 34-year-old Black trans woman in Detroit. This tragic incident highlights the ongoing violence and anti-trans sentiments during the 2023 Pride season.

The TransLatin@ Coalition denounces Sid Miller, the Commissioner of Agriculture, and his transphobic attacks against the Transgender, Gender Non-Conforming, and Intersex (TGI) community on their gender expression.

The TransLatin@ Coalition proudly announces our advisory board, a diverse group of twelve committed people who will help us address the strategic direction for our organization and help us support developing plans to improve the quality of life and the betterment of our Trans, Gender Non-Conforming, and Intersex (TGI) community.  

We are deeply concerned about the ongoing discriminatory, exclusionary measures filed in state legislatures nationwide that target transgender youth. Youth who identify as transgender or gender nonconforming and Intersex (TGI) continue to face obstacles in receiving high-quality medical treatment.
