The TransLatin@ Coalition (TLC) will be presenting an “Unmet Needs Letter” to the LA County Chief Executive Office towards an equitable and intentional investment in the health and wellness of TGI communities throughout Los Angeles County.

In a pivotal moment for the transgender, gender nonconforming, and intersex (TGI) community, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass made a historic visit to The TransLatin@ Coalition (TLC) offices, marking a significant step forward in advocacy and support for TGI  Latinx individuals.

The TransLatin@ Coalition, one of the largest transgender-led nonprofit service providers in the United States, released a statement from President and CEO Bamby Salcedo in response to the recall of former Mayor Raúl Ureña, the first openly  transgender person to serve in political office in the history of the city.

We at The TransLatin@ Coalition are devastated by the violent murder of Meraxes Medina, a beautiful trans Latina, who was shot and killed in South LA on March 20th. Meraxes is at least the sixth trans person to lose their life to violence in 2024, a tragic statistic that reflects the brutal reality faced by far too many in our community.

The TransLatin@ Coalition (TLC,) in collaboration with the LA County Commission on Human Relations and other LGBTQ+ community organizations and law enforcement officials, will hold a joint press conference to address the bomb threatened to be detonated on Monday, April 15th, and hate mail targeting LGBTQ organizations.
